A Look Back

Let’s face it. 2020 was a doozy of a year. Almost overnight, virtually every aspect of our daily life changed. Things that we used to take for granted, like meeting friends for lunch and going on vacation, were suddenly a thing of the past. Phrases such as “social distancing” and “pandemic” made their way into our daily lexicon. And no matter where we turned, it was almost impossible to escape the latest COVID-19 news.

As we discussed in a blog back in the spring (which seems like a lifetime ago), we continue to be grateful for the countless sacrifices made by our essential workers. As a company, we still feel immensely fortunate that we have been able to provide our customers with uninterrupted, ongoing support as most of us continue to work remotely. In addition to rolling out new features and enhancing existing ones, we’ve also added new team members to support our growing customer base.

New Faces

For those of you may not know, our Customer Success team includes Brock and Van, who live here in Oregon. It also includes Tim, who is from Michigan, and works at what he affectionately calls Syncta East (aka his home). As we’ve expanded our customer base this year across the east coast and into Canada, we’re excited to announce that we’ve gone global! In October, the Customer Success team welcomed Matt into the fold. Based in Burlington Ontario, Matt is coming up-to-speed quickly, learning all about Syncta and about the needs of our customers. Matt also humors us by fielding the occasional question about Canadian slang or traditions. Want to know what a tuque is but don’t feel like looking it up? Be sure to ask Matt the next time you talk to him! Matt will be sharing more about himself in one of our first blog posts of 2021.

Our Development and Sales teams have also grown this year, adding three new developers, and a new sales executive. Bryan, the newest member of our sales team, just came on board this month. You’ll be able to learn more about Bryan in an upcoming blog post.

New Features and Updates

Our Development team has been busy this year – really busy. Some of the most notable updates include AutoPhil support for nine more portals, a redesigned tester submission portal, initial development of an offline application, and expanded options for notifications.

The three phases of the submission portal redesign focused on making the portal simpler and easier to use, while also giving the testers the ability to add more information on their own, such as new customers and service locations. Click here for more information about using the tester submission portal.

Other changes include improvements to routes, surveys, a redesigned dashboard for water purveyors, notifications, and much, much more. To learn more about all of the new features and enhancements that we’ve made this year, check out our release notes. And be sure to check this page throughout the year for the latest updates!

Full Steam Ahead

As we take stock of the past year and look forward to the year ahead, we are especially grateful to our customers who have been hard at work keeping our drinking water supply safe. We appreciate your continued partnership and look forward to finding even more ways to help your business succeed in the coming year.

From the entire team at Syncta,

Happy Holidays!
